What Has 42 Talk Shows Posted, 2 Months of BDS Promos and...

We are making it happen at QMedia for the Independent Artist to make it in the industry especially with our international connections.  We've never been the ones to SOUND OFF, but maybe it's time that we do....Nahhh, it's all good.  If you don't like what we offer there's always tomorrow and another team to work with. Now, that we got that out of the way let's focus on the real and what's important...

We've been able to look at the market and study our movement a little closer and these are some of our findings:
1) Many new artists' & small independent labels want to give the job of making their product sell to marketing companies that promise them one thing or the other with little or no results.
2) The artists' that we've been able to work with have often dropped the ball when it comes to getting themselves out there even when we've made things FREE.  And that's 10 years worth of "freebies"
3) Although some artists' may be doing well they still have yet to figure out how to capture good online sales, capture the sales information and make themselves an international brand.

We'll stop there with just some of our findings and just say that we're committed to rolling up our sleeves and really taking it to the next level for the serious artists' around the world who REALLY want to make an impact and be successful!

So, we're on board to boost the artists' that want to take their careers to the next level.  NO, no smoke and mirrors and no get rich quick plan either.  What we will do is work with anyone who's serious to do a marketing campaign that will begin by first creating a mindset to REALLY go INDEPENDENT and that will start with an e-book of what we have discovered to make us successful.  That will be followed up with a "Monthly Mindset Program" and if you're more than sure that this is the road for you, then we have International Promotional Packages that will be made available.

Lastly, ALL businesses that want to join this effort and support the Independent Entertainment Movement we're ready to help you make a statement and do business worldwide!  We'll be back to follow up and we look forward to working with the willing and not the ones that are stealing.....SMILE.....

UNIVERSOL "I Need You" (Official Video)

As We Proceed

Okay, so we've been getting ready for the 2 11 and brainstorming, re-doing (is that a word!? Well, it's mine now), setting up and sooo many other things. We wanted to just stop in for a few and let you all know what's going on behind the scenes...Our BlogTalk show has finally reached the 8,000 mark so thanks to all of you who tune in LIVE or ON DEMAND because we are really moving forward! As we went into the latter months of this year we joined on with www.SlaminFatBeatzRadio.com so for all of you indie artists who need to build yourselves and get on the charts we now have an outlet for you!

We're adding some guest dj's for next year, some guest bloggers, co-bloggers, interns, contests, celebrity interviews and YES! YES! YES! We're looking to be back in Japan by mid year building a tight JAPANESE dj coalition that will be your direct access into the clubs!  In addition to all of this we've found some partners out there who are just looking to book, sign and work with independent artists as long as YOU ARE SERIOUS!  What I mean by serious is that you have to come with some kind of budget....Doesn't have to be huge however, don't expect wine from water if you're gonna whine and cry water about not being able to get yourself out there....Remember, we're INDEPENDENT and that means BIG THINGS for BIG PEOPLE and that's what we think of each of you who come to us....that you ARE BIG!

For over a year since we put this blog together we've been offering cost effective solutions to being and staying independent and as we grow.....YOU GROW! So don't be surprised that if you choose to work with us and vice versa that we won't end up in magazines!

Which leads me to this......We'll be covering the club scene in Japan for Hip Hop Weekly as well as helping some of the established artists do their thing over there too.....so be on the look out....As for our own magazine we are looking to produce a "Trade Magazine" so be on the look out for that as well.

Just so you know....this is one of our newest PARTNERS!

Well folk, that's all for now and I'll see you on the other side.......

Beyond The Boom Bap and Into The BREAKERS

For over 30 years we've been loving the Hip Hop industry and celebrating the makers and breakers of our culture.  Today we celebrate all the men and women who've loved and exposed the true culture of Hip Hop in all its forms and for bringing the cipher up to date on what's happening in the lives of our pioneers.  Young heads have often overlooked recognition of the pioneers and it's a shame because in every art form and music genre cultures the younger artists are always taught by the older artists and are often endorsed during their budding careers.  It seems common now in Hip Hop to shun as well as diss those who've paved the way and for that we are thoroughly displeased (to say the least and to put it mildly).  So, during this next month and the last month of 2010 we want to add a major THANK YOU to ALL Pioneers in this culture as we celebrate everyone who's given their heart and soul even when the money didn't add up.  To all the record pools, dj's, emcee's, breakers, poppers, b-boys & girls, mothers, fathers, conscious rappers, etc, etc, etc WE LOVE YOU and we're prepared to help you tell your story to the world.   A culture worth saving is also a culture worth sharing......"HIP HOP YOU THE LOVE OF MY LIFE" The Roots feat. Where Independent Media Lives!: A Well Worn Story, But Now Must BE Told

Where Independent Media Lives!: A Well Worn Story, But Now Must BE Told

A Well Worn Story, But Now Must BE Told

The box office has reported and the verdict is that Tyler Perry's eagerly anticipated adaptation of the 1975 play, "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf" was a financial success.  Grossing nearly $20million on its opening weekend and was produced for $21million, I would say that was a huge success granted that the film industry has seen its share of financial downfalls over the past few years.

Decidely, the women who played their respective roles were stellar in their performances and added depth to each character as did the supporting men and children.  Their dedication to bringing out the pain, sharing the promise, the presentation of trial and their eventual triumph was interwoven in each other as a well fitted glove on an arthritic hand that would otherwise need immediate attention yet would at least be able to function if covered well until a doctor's care could be given.

As I sat there with my mother I thought of all the stories as my story in one way or another, but I also thought of the many Black women who go about their daily lives attending to the needs of others before giving any thought to caring for themselves.  It was a testament, to say the least, of the varied stories of the lives of Black women in American culture as they interact with each other and the world and often are overlooked while being the caretakers of everyone while neglecting their own needs whatever they may be.  I thought it was a window into soul of Black women, but that also told the story of other women while also giving the Black man a secondary understanding of the hurt produced, but also what could be how they could support us.

Without getting into the particulars I believe that Mr. Perry and all of the actors were well worth their weight in gold as they opened up this play to a new generation of women all over the world to see and feel the pain of one of the most underserved women in the world.

Kudos to you Mr. Perry and we look forward to more!

Much love and success......

We Are Set!

The Road To Republican Solvency: A Return To Bulldog Politics circa 1861

Without all the historical misgivings and false pretenses at some sort of racial common ground in America it holds true that a problem as deeply rooted in the American fabric such as racism has its effects for generations to come.

In 2008, America finally achieved what was thought to be it's first glance at what a different "looking" President and his family would look like.  Unconventional to many of us was to see a Black man on television smiling without telling a joke and actually walking with a Black woman and happy along with his two beautiful daughters in tow.  As that picture began to wane and we took a look at the sinister people who were relentless in calling him a "Muslim", "anti-American", "a reverse racist" and so many other nasty names that for one moment in 2007 we saw what the possibility was for a Black man to make it so far without being killed in the process.

Now, as midterm elections have been touted as the most "historical" because the Republicans have garnered their strength and have made their mighty arm felt we want to look at the "Road To Republican Solvency" the bitter fight to so-call get "America back on track".

Clearly, Mr. Obama entered Office of the Presidency with the stack against him from all fronts and he came in swinging with a team that he believed would get the job done in terms of recovery that the previous administration had turned inside out.  With a growing deficit and everyday workers getting their checks strangled to death he did what he thought best and that was to bail out the immediate and then work to fine tune and upgrade the areas that were not in as dire distress.

This opened us up to an even bigger debt crisis while at the same time it closed some of the gaping financial holes that were having its effects on the rest of the world.  He not only began cleaning up America, but for all of those in the economic "bed" with America they needed reassuring too.  In came a country full of charlatans bitter about not gaining the office of the Presidency and  who had just patted the last president on the back for going after the "terrorists" not even looking at the greatest government controlled surveillance in history (now how's that for less government) coupled with the mortgaging of properties that would be severely devalued through an uncontrolled and unchecked financial system; and when the dust settled the most critical of all points was the $1,000,000,0000,000 ($1 trillion) deficit that was inherited by the Obama administration.  While he became the first Black President he also became the first President in American History to inherit a deficit that was really touted as a "MELTDOWN".

So, here we are two years later and the bitter charlatans who are either in a political office or working out in the "Al-Qaeda" styled militia reserves across the country are taking off their sheets in wise fashion and holding up placards to "take back America" what does that say about a so-called post racial and enlightened people who are a world super power.

It leaves people to open up new ways of communicating, doing business and finding other ways to survive.

This political civil war of sorts is very similar to the types of events leading up to the the actual Civil War in which a distinct part of the country was undoubtedly the economic engine of America and thought it wise to depose themselves of working together and thereby pushed to secede.  Only in this case, the current civil war is without a clear platform other than to just "say no" to everything and work on nothing.

For 8 years the Republicans had an agenda and from 8 years before that the Democrats had an agenda--where did it get us?  As we look at the outside influences such as the Tea Party and so many other splinter groups that have taken on the fight to get rid of Obama instead of eradicating the essential ills that we face it has become increasingly clear  that this is not about fortifying life for the American people, but it's about continuing this psychosis of "supremacy" that has leading this country full of disease to its death.

Is there an answer?  What can we do?  Where will it lead?  How do we survive?

Give In Order To Receive

Some of the best artists that I've met over the years are often the ones who not only give everything they have on the stage, but achieve massive results with their fans off stage as well.  Giving in the spirit of true love for their art/talent while at the same time having enough love for their fans that they're willing to go the distance in marketing themselves again and again.  Not just through music but by signing an autograph, listening to other fans who are artists too, going to places where their music is played and make an appearance and there are so many other ways that artists can give back.

Now, I bring this up because there are artists too who also share their wealth on worthy causes that are dear to them and often shed light on those areas of human life that if really highlighted could move people together.  To mobilize around a cause that is bigger than themselves while at the same time still giving makes all the difference when it comes to a dedicated fan base.

I once met an artist who had no clue about marketing himself through charitable acts and well let's just say he's working double overtime to re-establish his career.  And while he is talented he's gotten so used to his fans coming to him that they just can't see him because his ego has definitely been in the way.  This leads me to write a bit of advice.....

You want your career to really TAKE OFF in the entertainment business?  Start giving more of yourself to your fans and you'll see the REAL success you only have been dreaming about!

Peace.....

It's A Knock OUT!!!

The Sheer Truth!
Independent Media is where we are and it's clear that as more media outlets are being bought out and going to large conglomerates it is making new opportunities for smaller networks to offer the same kind of coverage only in different ways.

For instance, the internet has morphed what being in independent media means.  By offering a virtually free platform coupled with the latest technology and the entire world as a stage, more and more companies are generating secondary incomes by taking their products and services DIRECT "to the people".

As an independent media outlet, our major network "QMediaNation" is taking its internet connections to new heights and giving new life to artists who otherwise have fallen out of the "popular" media as well as new artissts who are making their mark on the world.

It's been a one two punch of sorts as we're helping to build relationships and careers around the world.....

Join us as we will be exposing who's out there doing what it takes to increase the visibility of independent entertainers!

Let Us Make Man (Make Money)

Peace To Everyone,
From time to time we re-post GREAT writings that we find on the web.  This brother certainly has the mind to matter!  We wanted to share this with our QMediaNation family and spread the love about new writers!

Bro Benjamin Muhammad on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 9:10pm.

In The Name Of Allah, The Beneficent, The Most Merciful

I just wanted to begin a discussion that will allow all of us the creative opportunity to help build a mighty nation. My purpose of reaching out to so many of you lately is to bring to all of our attentions and yours, how great we shall become in unity. Money or financial stress kills the will. Therefore, thinking outside of the box will put us on our square. If it's not about a dollar, than it makes no sense right? Well, buckle up, as we become fast moving, fast thinking, even down to the modern times!

Fast moving displays the rate of speed that we must become self sufficient with our finances. Some of us are broke as hell, right? Some lost their jobs working for someone else? Well, it's time to do for self! We've heard this many times, and now is the time to show one another how??? Each one, teach one.

I'll share just a few things that are doable, and lucrative. All I ask in return is, your comments do the same.

1. In the Southern Regions, where it's hot...Sell bottled water! here's the mathematics:
I took (this summer, because I live in CT) $5.00 and purchased a case of water, 24 to 35 bottles per case. I used every tray in my freezer to make my ice. I borrowed a cooler because I didn't own one. Within an hour on a hot day, at a busy intersection, I not only sold one case at $1.00 a bottle (stores charge more than that) I had to get more. In short, after 4 hours, I had over $100.00. So, I paid myself over $25.00 per hour! If we drink water in a bottle now, as if it's not the same that's in our sinks.. Then we should sell water too. Black water is just as cold and wet as white people water.

2. For the Brothers in the field with The Final Call Newspaper :

1. I started a promotion company with 0 dollars, because I had to think. These thoughts were inspired by my wife, an MGT! She loves the work and The Teachings. But everything is real and I needed to help at home with the cost of living. So, a light bulb went off in my head:

I now spend all the time I want in the field helping to save our people. Yet, while I'm out there, I hand deliver company's fliers to people, recommending their Black Business, as long as it doesn't conflict with my religion. I think Final Calls, therefore I charge $35-$70 per week to refer their goods and services.
You figure, if you get 5 businesses @$70 or $280 a month and 5 @ $35 that's $1,820.00 a month for 2 to 4 hours a day, 3 days per week...or let's say 12 hours per week, multiply that times 4 weeks... we're talking for 48 hours of work and duties to Allah, you just paid yourself $37.92 per hour. Now you gotta love that math.

I share the wealth because our history is mightier than you know. If you have any suggestions that you'd like to share, please post a comment.

Sisters also, please share! I know you know that Chinese are not the only cooks, hair and nail salons. Buy weave wholesale and sell it too.

As Salaam Alaikum,

evsession2soul

I am so EXCITED right NOW. The walls are coming down and I can see the prize right
in front of me. All I have to do is grab it.

For those of you who do not know me...My name is Precise. I am an emcee/producer/songwriter/blogger/journalist. My mission is to use these God given gifts for the betterment of society and the preservation of this culture called Hip Hop.

Now...back to why I am so EXCITED!!!! I just got added to the roster of
http://www.qmedianation.blogspot.com/ blog "Where Independent Media
Lives" This is an independent international blog with strong ties to Japanese, European
and African markets. This opens up so many doors and gives an independent artist like
myself the ability to communicate with the world outside of the confines of the US. I
want to say thank you to Falana for considering me for this opportunity. I am extremely
grateful and appreciative. Lets Change The World.

.......Another reason I am so EXCITED!! is because of the amazing Growth of Evening
Sessions. Evening Sessions "A Journey Into Art and Sound" is a weekly event held a
The Living Room in Chicago. Evening Sessions is the brain Child of two amazingly talented individuals. Just Flo is a visual artist, singer and emcee. Uneq'ka is an amazing songstress, songwriter and musician.  You can check them out on our page: http://www.facebook.com/precisesoundz

A few months back they asked me to be involved with Evening Sessions as a resident
artist. It has been so fulfilling to see how the hard work of Just Flo and Uneq'ka has
created such a strong team in JustFm and a viable outlet for Chicago artists. It truly is
the place to be. I look forward to it every week. If you are in Chicago or ever come to
Chicago this is an event you must attend. The Renaissance Live and In Person. At The
Living Room 1100 W Cermak in Chicago, IL. Check The Commercial Below at my channel:

Now....another reason why I'm so EXCITED!! Hennessey Artistry made its stop in Chicago recently and it was OFF THE CHAIN!!!! This is the second installment since last year and it is curated by Questlove of The Roots. When I went last year I had a great time met a lot of people and made many connections. This year was no different. I even had the opportunity to grace the red carpet with the Likes of QTip, Erykah Badu, The Roots , BlackThought and DNice. The Roots are an amazing band. Qtip and Black Thought joined forces to do covers of NWA to Main Source and ATCQ classic Electric Relaxation.

While that was happening I went back stage and ran into Erykah Badu right before she
surprised Chicago with her presence. She performed a rendition of "The Healer" that is
unforgettable. What an AWESOME night.

Hennessey Artistry was a bit more involved this year and included panels that enlisted the
services of many Chicago Industry "movers and shakers" Most notably /twitter.com/HUSTLESIMMONS">Hustle Simmons . I had the opportunity to be
involved with Hustlepalooza last year at SXSW and it is great to see Hustle getting the
shine he deserves. Make sure to follow him on twitter....he drops jewels.

Yet another reason to get EXCITED!!! ..... My song http://precise.bandcamp.com/track/go produced by NS BEAT PROZ is getting placed EVERYWHERE most recently Dj Kenny Mo and Dj Jenny J's mixtape for Coast2Coast Mixtape Dj's called "Northern Exposure: From The North + East The South+ West Volume 1" Soon to be released.

This is only the beginning and I anticipate great things happening. I appreciate those of you who have been on this journey with me thus far, and welcome to those of you whohave just joined. WE ARE CHANGING THE WORLD!!!

Stay Focused, Positive and Productive

If You Don't Know....Now You Know...

It's been a whirlwind few weeks for the team here at QMedia.  Trying to keep a tight lid on the moves that are being made to get more artists overseas and of course making the team stronger.  As it stands we are in a position with the QMedia Nation shows on the internet to provide an outlet for new and established artists to have the airplay needed to keep YOU on the minds of potential new fans and of course to build your presence too.

To present new music to markets that would not otherwise hear your music is phenomenal and to have street teams there working in those countries to expose you in the clubs all without a big budget is virtually unheard of.  So, we want to applaud all of you who are on board with us and we encourage others to join in on the love.

If you don't, now you know that we're making 2011 a TOP PRIORITY for the people who make the music we all love!

Global Grinding Towards Success

Hitting the touring circuit is not always easy and especially when you're taking it on the international level.  There are so many choices to make and if you're depending on your own budget then that becomes an issue as well.  So, as we received many calls, texts and emails about the upcoming Black College Football Classics Tour and the Kansai Music Conference in Osaka, Japan we wanted to remind people about the overall objective.  It's about gaining ground in your markets and of course putting money in your pocket.

The touring circuit allows new fans to connect with you and more importantly you get to know what some of their favorite cover songs are that you are able to incorporate in your show.   Meeting your fans face to face opens up a world of possibilities every time you drop a new single or even an album or trailer for an independent film.  To take your talent to the world is PRICELESS and it also means LONGEVITY~

Just To Get A Rep

In the infamous words of Guru in "Just To Get A Rep" I was reminded of what the game of Hip Hop has become.  It used to be a creative hustle in which MC's, DJ's, Breakers, etc would just be together.  Form a bond have fun and break loose from whatever was going on inside their homes, their heads, school, work and would just maintain the culture by sounding the alarm on the dance floor, makeshift clubs and of course on the streets.  It was the alternative to just basketball being on the courts and it was born so that those of us who were left out of the parks normal recreation into something of another expression which was just as hot as shootin' shots and gaining points on those courts.  Girls would put on their "playboy bunny logo" hoodies with the matching Adidas or Lotto's and of course the Lee Jeans (two-toned optional) and of course the socks had to match along with the clip on feathers attached to your belt loop with your street name emblazoned on your belt buckle and did I forget the matching silver name chain to go with it?  Oh, and the boys who knew they were all that would be about it with their latest on too.

There was love for the game even if there wasn't love for each other and at the end of the day when the battles were over in the parks and the street lights came on everyone was getting ready for the next battle either at a school party, the playground, on the train, at a bus stop, the cafeteria or wherever and it was all about rep.  The good thing was that fist fights turned to mic fights and everyone went home to talk about it and come back in the rap ring for round after round of never ending S&^% talkin' and we made it happen for the pure love it to get a rep.

Nowadays it's turned into an "All About The Benjamins" (The McKinleys-$500 bill, The Clevelands-$1000 bill, The Madisons-$5000 bill, etc) and although many of us are trying to turn our passion into profit--when did it become a hustle to hurt one another just to get a rep.  When Rappers take on each other and battle in the stats to see who's getting the most sales that's cool, but to take another rapper and look to destroy his/her career in what is known as "entertainment" over reputation of who has really lived the life that they personify in their songs then I've got to ask "what's the motive"?

When it's all said and done we all have families that we wish no harm to; we all have lives that supercede the stage; and more importantly it's the future of our culture that is at stake--let's face it, none of us are going to be here forever, but once you make your mark on wax, film or paper you preserve a legacy.

I've never heard of Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro lurking through the press sending messages to kill one another if the other does a movie that remotely looks like something each have done;  I've never heard of Jack Nicholson looking for Tom Cruise to pay him back for pulling him out in "A Few Good Men" because it's all entertainment.  It's also called MATURITY.

To many of us this art or this thing called entertainment equals LIFE or CULTURE, but to kill each other "just to get a rep" I turn us back to Guru's lyrics...."but as we know things do come back, and shortys now peeping others that are scheming the kind of act..." Moral of the story...what you may knock someone else out of the game for just to make yourself look good or make sales will come back to haunt you too.....

Gotta Spread The Love? Go ON TOUR!

Ask any artist signed or unsigned and they'll tell you that getting PAID is what it's all about! Whether you're still independent or making moves to get a deal; putting money in your pocket is why many if not all of us got into the game!

Just recently we were hit with some major ways for artists to get paid, and we just want to share one that we know keeps the pockets laced if you have the right stuff.  GOING ON TOUR!

Show money is big money because not only are you getting an opportunity to perform for fans as well as potential new fans, but you're also merchandising, you've got your street team touching the crowd (hyping you to the audience) and more importantly you're opening an avenue to GET PAID!

Now, many Independent Artists often hit the wall when it comes to touring.  It's a time when some artists want to sit back and let their managers handle all of that or if they're fortunate to have a booking agent, then that's the point person who's ready to place that artist anywhere there's a mic.  But what if you're not a hot artist with an entourage of people ready, willing and able to help make YOUR DREAM come true?  I get alot of texts, email, phone calls and even some Facebook messages of Independent Artists ready to leave the game and it all comes down to MONEY.  They believe in their project and are willing to get out there, but they have more bills than resources and all too soon that dream of touching the mic is now a thing of the past.

That's why we created the station for artists that want to get out there and MAKE IT HAPPEN!  With "UNPAID" airplay and some other resources we've been able to help well over 100 artists get themselves heard and marketed in at least 7 countries (Japan, Korea, China, The UK, Canada, Australia and of course the US) and as the listenership grows we've been able to make new relationships in Germany, Qatar, Malaysia and parts of the Caribbean.  We'll talk more about that later.....

What I want to stress is that after airplay or even simultaneously any artist who's serious should be on the road at least 65% or more of the time during their career.  I mean Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall around the clock being relentless at self promotion.  Any well known artist will tell you that STRATEGIC MARKETING which is also about finding your niche or as we would say your EDGE over the next artist is all about getting out there so the people can make their decision.

Do you think that many of the artists that you hear today were just sitting back waiting to see if things would just happen!?  No.  And why should you when there are opportunities everywhere to make what you do come to life for those who'll listen.

With that said, we've got some opportunities for people like you who want to be seen by over 20,000 potential fans and to visit some key cities during the Black College Football Classics Tour.  Beginning next month the kick off begins and the stages are being set....now what about you being seen by them?  It's an opportunity that not many will take, but how about you?

We'll be writing and talking about this great opportunity here on the blog as well as on the show (www.BlogTalkRadio.com/QMediaNation) and you'll see what we mean......so stay tuned and let us know who's taking this chance so we can shout you out for the world to hear!

The Truth About Leaving Your CASH On The Table

So you're getting your buzz up around the world and you're making moves internationally...downloads, website hits and even trying to find gigs too.  Well, here's some guerilla marketing tips just for you:

First off, it's great if you're getting hits internationally and especially downloads, but what do you do when your next single or album comes out?  I've seen so many artists who are making thier strides worldwide make the same mistake again and again and now we're here to help.

Just a few years ago (2001) we took what we had to Japan and opened up shop in a small city just south of Tokyo (Shizuoka) and it was there that we began to see what's really going on.  To really make an impact it's mostly about relationships and those relationships turn into money.  Money that will keep coming in if you know how to work those relationships with or without touring.

It's time that you banked those relationships and make them work for you time and again.  Join us on www.BlogTalkRadio.com/QMediaNation @ 8pm (EST) and ON DEMAND immediately following the show when we will be going into depth with "Making The Deal Come To You" and so much more!

Make sure to log this call in number in your phone:  347-426-3974 or friend us on blogtalk and join the chat!

Power By Association: The New Paradigm in Business & Relationships

It is often said that the best relationship to have is one where YOU are living your dream and being successful.  Our best opportunity to make that happen is to study the possibilities of where you want to go in life and begin scouting through many resources to attain those relationships or that particular relationship that will lead you to your eventual goal.

In the business of music and especially for independent artists we are challenged to make a career with limited or in most cases, no monetary resources and alot of dreams and ideas.  The best remedy is a healthy dose of "right" relationships and it begins with the relationship you have with yourself.  The foundation of your relationship with self is CONFIDENCE.  To develop a keen sense of self that regardless as to what others say about your move to go or stay independent--you are making your mark on the world by blazing a trail that is often a lonely one.

The next relationship to take charge of are people around you.  Those who believe in you and more importantly getting rid of those who choose to interfere with your path of success.  As you advance in your relationships the next is your business relationship which begins with research.  Research of those businesses and people who head the businesses you are interested in.  This is where the real investigation begins.

As you take your career to new levels and blaze the trail these people who are making an impact on you personally are going to help make your business grow too.  It is the mantra in business to "look at the five people you associate with and you'll notice your success or under achievement".  It will be the change that you need for success or it will be the chance to make more solid relationships.

Supporting your personal and professional movement in entertainment or in any business starts and ends with the right relationships.......

Summer Festivals and YOU!

Peace to Everyone!

To the teams our there on the ground making our market GROW we salute you! I want to call attention to the Providence Sound Sessions in Rhode Island (USA). A nearly week long festival of epic proportions set in the quaint small New England town of Providence and absolutely taking the world by storm.

Seven years and counting this event is host to over 400 acts, is co-sponsored by the city and has some 40,000 plus attendees. Now, as independent artists we should all be encouraged by this "movement" and we were joined the other night on www.BlogTalkRadio.com/QMediaNation by DJ Tek and Weusi who were there to share with us the light they've been shining up the way.

We were joined by Switzerland (LIVE) and of course we had callers from around the US who were showing their love and support for the event. Our fans in Japan, Australia, China and some other choice countries caught the show ON DEMAND (as you can also). So, what's stopping you?

Summer festivals, conferences, conventions, etc are the way to get yourself out there and one place to start is with us...FOR FREE! We review, play and promote your music as well as events and with a whole world behind us and over 5,000 listeners we're making it happen.

The next time you envision yourself rocking a mic think that there are fans just waiting to hear you. Until next time,

Peace,

The Q Team!

Taking It To The Next Level In Independent Media

Hello To Everyone!

When we first started out with internet radio we truthfully did not know how successful this venture would be. After spending over twenty years in terrestrial radio and well over twenty five in media it was time to take what we knew to the rest of the world.

It's been a worldwide effort making this business of entertainment really an open door for all those who want to get their talent out to the world. At QMedia it's been a labour of love, a labour of blessings and most of all a labour that has been and will continue to be worth every broadcast, writing, promotion, spin, shout out as well as event.

So, to all of you who have been following us continue to do so and our WORD to you is to keep opening as many doors as we can to make our industry grow!

The History of Being and Staying Independent

Independent Musician and Historian, William "Pal" Walker born in Harlem, NY in 1929. A legend in his own right and still making the music of yesterday speak to us today. We were able to connect with him in a wonderful afternoon interview as well as on the show (www.BlogTalkRadio.com/QMediaNation dated:6/17/2010).

Having started as a teenager as a Saxophonist and sitting in on sessions with Jazz notables to prove his skills and learn technique, "Pal" developed his own style with the Jazz greats of his early days. Artists such as: Lester Young, Lucky Miller and Charlie Parker (just to name a few) took him under their wings and helped him craft not only a style, but also a long lasting passion that has kept him an independent musician for over 65 years!

We had a rare and memorable opportunity to sit and speak with him at his home in Englewood, New Jersey where we learned just what it takes to be and stay independent as an artist and most of all to keep that independence for a lifetime. His style is free, full of movement, skill, technique and is qualified as fine tuned melody that is soothing to the listener. While taking a tour of his home studio I was delighted to see the creative spaces of both he and his wife Rowena which was like getting a history lesson on life and most of all culture. No stranger to many of the greats in music, "Pal" is a legend in his own right and still keeping audiences moving with the beat that he's all too familiar with every Sunday at his Harlem church. He is definitely a musical genius.
When asked about the transition from Be-Bop/Jazz/Gospel to Funk/R&B/Hip Hop he says that he never focused on what trends were happening because he could always find a place with his talent. He did what many artists did and expanded overseas.
One notable part of our time together was hearing about all of the influential people who lived right in his community as a young musician giving him an education that only community folk can do. From Billy Eckstine, Sugar Ray Robinson and Joe Louis to even the infamous A. Phillip Randolph and Nipsey Russell. The list goes on and we applaud Mr. Walker also as he played his rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" that fine afternoon.

For full media coverage listen to: www.BlogTalkRadio.com/QMediaNation 6/17/2010 and hear for yourself the incomparable Mr. William "Pal" Walker.

It's The Return That So Many Waited For

Greetings To All!
It was a little over a year that we began the journey into internet radio and it seemed like it would be over in less than our year that we would be packing and heading back to life as usual.  Well, the people spoke, we got some rest and regrouped the crew and now we're back and with a few new twists...
1) QMediaNation is back on BlogTalkRadio and has since changed its format into an ONLINE "RADIO" MAGAZINE which is why we were so eager to start blogging again.  You see, 2 hours clearly is just not enough time to finish every topic that is discussed, create links to our other ventures and to the guests and it's certainly not enough time to get all the questions in either soooo QMediaNation Family we are taking the show and placing it on blogspot which will also allow us to show pictures and videos to compliment the show.

2)  It's true that we've added some folks to the team besides Ms. Tonye and me.  Little does everyone know we've added one of the top relationship experts to the QMedia roster and he's going to take us through the relationship maze and be on hand to answer questions, give advice and more importantly help all of us create better ones.  His name if most of you don't easily remember is Minister Abdul Hafeez Muhammad of Muhammad Mosque #7 (NYC).  He was blazing the airwaves every week on 105.1 fm and has now joined our team to take the work further as independent radio is making its impact on the worldwide market.  He is sure to help you and we'll be unveiling some other great news about this new addition in the months ahead.

3)  Since we're a global entity with plenty of pull in other countries some of our segments will soon be delivered in various languages.  Chiefly English and then we have an international staff who will be helping us to deliver the message in Japanese, Spanish, Arabic and French (just to name a few languages).  To be global we've really set a high standard to increase our visibility on the world stage.

4) INDEPENDENT ENTERTAINMENT is why we began this show for those artists who are looking to not only form a network, but those who really want to stay aware of the many opportunities out there for all of us.  For starters, we encourage independent artists to send us their 1:00minute MP3 clips along with a bio so we can let our audience know and feel who you are.  We also encourage artists to interview on our show in order for people to ask them questions as well and really bring them front and center on the world stage through our show.

5) ADVERTISERS!  We're creating more ways for small businesses in virtually every market to get their name out there to the world.  Whether they are an online or brick and mortar business we're in the process of designing more bang for the buck so that businesses don't go broke trying to let others know who they are.

6) UNIQUE PARTNERSHIPS/SOCIAL NETWORKING:  The key to being and staying in radio is the ability to offer quality, be entertaining and publicize, publicize, publicize.  By consistently partnering with others in the industry along with taking part in social networking QMediaNation is growing to be one of the more popular shows on BlogTalkRadio while at the same time helping other partners spread the word about what they have going on in the world.
Some of our partners and relationships consist of industry leaders who are taking the business side of entertainment and networking to another level.  Presently, HBCUConnect.com. The IDJTrade Awards, SGS Global Multimedia, The Kansai Music Conference and many others are connecting with the QMediaNation show and are making sure that we are not only given the information for their respective events, but that we are a part of some or all of the planning for these events.  The most exciting part about this is that we're not just announcing what's happening to help our industry grow, but we're on the inside and bringing you up to date, to the minute information!

7)  Every show will have a written update.  Clearly, we need more time together on the show so some of our segments will include transcripts and links so that YOU the reader will be able to contact them and receive the information that we only covered in a short amount of time while on the air.

8)  Lastly, we thank YOU for braving the storm with us as we were not on the air for a few months and we hope that you'll become a contributing supporter for years to come!

2010 The New Year and You!

Finally! A New Year and lots to cover. First off I hope that everyone had a GREAT new year and are settling in to 2010 with more ideas on prosperity, but more importantly that you have started on the plan to make everything that you'd like to do come to "BE".

It was a pretty big year for us here at QMedia in '09 and we're ready with a new approach, some re-directing, some other locations where we've been able to have an impact and even more connections to help all of us in this industry create more opportunities for ourselves.

If you haven't had an opportunity to check out the show please be our guest and take a brief look because this has been all designed with YOU in MIND! www.BlogTalk.com/QMediaNation . This is a show designed to help bridge the divide between the business and entertainment communities. So, what this means is that if you have a small business in just about any industry and also if you're an entertainer we're here to help expose your message through our media.

The process is simple: If you've got something to say, then we're here to help YOU spread your message and music!
